An improvement in reading and security
The main documents we usually ask users to provide to verify their identity are the identity document (or DNI), passport, residence permit, or driver’s license.
However, sometimes our clients may need additional documents to verify a user’s viability. This is the case for clients who need to verify income through a payslip or the user’s postal address through a utility bill.
Recognizing this need, we decided to include the option to add these types of documents to the onboarding processes. Today, we bring you a series of improvements to this feature.
What has changed in our new OTD feature?
First of all, this new feature affects both our clients who use our SDKs and those who decided to integrate us through our API. Therefore, this improvement is also for you.
OCR Technology
One of the biggest demands from our clients was to include OCR (optical character recognition) technology in our OTD. Now, the supported OTDs will be read by Alice’s technology, thus obtaining all their information broken down and structured.
Security Checks
We have also added a series of security checks that will help discern whether the documents are fraudulent, similar to other evidence such as identity documents or passports. This will not only assist manual reviewers but will also enable and facilitate the automation of user acceptance and rejection.
Double Upload Option
Finally, we have enabled a double upload method for these types of documents. On the one hand, it is possible to incorporate the OTD into the onboarding process so that the user can add it during their identity verification. On the other hand, our clients can also upload the OTD directly from the dashboard within the specific user’s profile. This second method is especially useful for cases where the OTD is a complementary document that is only requested on certain occasions, so it usually reaches our client through other means, for example, via email.
