Alice Biometrics is the first cross-platform system to meet CCN requirements for video identification solutions.

Alice CCN CPSTIC

Alice Biometrics, which allows non face-to-face video identification, becomes the only provider that complies, for all types of platforms (web and mobile), with the security requirements demanded by the National Cryptologic Centre of HIGH category.

As reflected in the CPSTIC (Catalogue of Information and Communications Technology Products and Services) of this organisation, which exclusively includes cybersecurity solutions that have been thoroughly evaluated and certified;

This catalogue is designed to help organisations identify and select technology solutions that meet the security standards necessary to protect their systems and data. The National Cryptologic Centre (CCN) is an organisation belonging to the Spanish Ministry of Defence.

The validation has been carried out by DEKRA, one of the world’s leading organisations in the ICT sector and an assessment body authorised to issue eIDAS conformity certificates and conformity assessment reports.

Esteban Vázquez, CTO and co-founder of Alice, said: “Alice’s technology has successfully passed the evaluation at the HIGHEST quality, confirming that it complies with the legal and technical regulations necessary to be used by public administration and private companies in various use cases. This achievement reinforces Alice’s commitment to the highest standards of accuracy, quality and safety”.

In addition, Alice Biometrics’ video identification solution is the first to be successfully evaluated as secure against the attack described by the Chaos Computer Club (CCC), this type of attack had recently forced a halt to the use of video identification processes in Germany.

All the technologies evaluated have been developed in-house by Alice Biometrics, including:

  • extraction of the biometric facial profile to check the identity against the photographs on the document;
  • passive and active PAD analysis (Presentation Attack Detection or Liveness) to detect phishing attacks;
  • automatic reading of the front and back of the document; and
  • automatic document security analysis.

Alice, an advantage for trusted e-service providers.

All tools used by Qualified Trust Service Providers (QTSPs) for the use of non-face-to-face identification of qualified electronic certificate applicants must comply with this requirement. Therefore, they can rely on Alice Biometrics for this task.
