Reby, the best option to move between two places
Reby offers a sustainable alternative for getting around in urban areas. On their platform you can rent scooters, motorbikes and bikes. Fully established in 23 cities in Spain and Italy, they are poised for further growth.
True to its principles, Reby focuses on its customers. Their vehicles are designed for sharing (they are tougher and easier to repair). And by not needing as many repairs, they can offer greater availability of vehicles on the street. In addition, they provide an economical service with options and prices to suit all budgets.
The challenge: a robust remote identity verification system
Identity verification is a necessary requirement for Reby for two reasons:
Firstly, for the safety of their community and the safety of their vehicles. Both users and Reby need to know who they are dealing with. On the one hand, users need to feel comfortable trusting a company that provides them with vehicles in good condition. On the other hand, the company needs to know its users in order to be able to follow up in case of unforeseen events or damage.
In addition, identity verification is a deterrent to fraud.
Secondly, because the vast majority of municipalities and regulations require them to verify and confirm the documentation of their users.
Verifying the identity of users extends the life of vehicles for companies such as Reby. It is a tool that not only serves to detect fraud and assign responsibility, but also to deter users who intend to cause damage.
Reby had an expensive and complex solution
Before integrating our solution, Reby already had a documentation verification solution in place. The problem was that it was expensive, complex and did not allow them to make the improvements the internal team needed.
The biggest benefit we have [with Alice] is that we can customise the onboarding process a lot, just because of the way the product is designed.
Alvaro Ferrer, Product Manager
In their quest for improvement, they considered other companies for the verification process. They chose us, Alice, for three reasons:
Because we offer a differential technological product, which allows a lot of operational flexibility to our customers (to whom we listen at all times).
Because our team is 100% involved and responds quickly.
For our pay-per-use pricing model, tailored to the realities of scaling businesses.
With Alice, new Reby users only need to capture a photo of their ID card. Our solution takes care of verifying that the document is valid in seconds, allowing Reby to onboard as many users as possible without manual intervention and considerably improving the experience of its riders.
I can attest that the [Alice] team develops features based on conversations with customers.

With Alice, 15% reduction in fraud in 2 months
After a quick integration, in which Reby highlights the quality of our technical documentation, we only needed a couple of months to reduce fraud by 15%. To which should be added the savings in resources that this entails.
In addition to the economic savings of our solution for Reby: 1 euro/user.
Reby, let’s go for more, let’s keep growing!
[Answer to the question: What is the best thing about Alice?] I would say two things: The technology they develop for verification (face-match, face-lightness, information extraction) because it is very powerful. And also the way the service doesn’t make decisions for its clients, it simply returns information and lets us create our own business rules.
