What is identity theft in remote interviews?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Identity theft in remote interviews occurs when a user pretends to be another person, either to get a job, to access confidential information, etc.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Recruitment and hiring processes have changed a lot in recent times. Remote jobs have given way to a new type of employee search, in which the entire process is remote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The need for technical profiles and inefficient security barriers have sharpened the cunning of people accustomed to going through job interviews to sell a new service. In exchange for payment, these \u201cactors\u201d impersonate the identity of the candidates during the selection processes (which constitutes identity fraud).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In countries like the United States there seems to be a market for people with experience in selection processes, who offer identity theft services during interviews. Especially in the technological field, since the demand is high and the difficulty of finding suitable professionals is also high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s why it’s important for companies hiring remotely to make sure who they’re dealing with and that they’re hiring real people (using their own documentation). Otherwise, in the long term, this can cause security risks to the company (in case the fraudulent user has hidden interests), as well as damage to company operations, delays and lost time in training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can this fraud be avoided?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
